Admissions surprise New Zealand Chinese
In a follow-up article to yesterdays report on Wen Jiabao’s comments on human rights problems, the Press has some comments from prominent Chinese scholars in New Zealand. With a population of between 150,000 to 200,000 the Chinese community is a vibrant part of New Zealand’s exciting multi-cultural social milieu. And their responses range from disbelief to gladness.

Premier Wen Jiabao’s public admission of China’s human rights problems surprised many expatriate Chinese in New Zealand, most of whom are supportive of the Beijing regime.
