Back in Japan (2) Settled
I was wondering what to call this post, when I had the brilliant idea of calling it Back in Japan mainly because, even though we have been back a month and half now, that is how it feels. Back in the flow of things, working, putting a tie on in the morning that sort of thing, getting back to some sort of normality amongst the differance.
Tsukuba has turned out to be quite exactly what I hadn’t imagined Japan to be like. In a lot of ways it reminds me of New Zealand, heaps of trees and people moving around either on bicycles or cars. Of course there are still the normal, arcane rubbish disposal laws and all those little things like how you ride a bus (you take a ticket when you get on, at the back of the bus, then match up your ticket number with the electronic display to work out how much to pay when you get off), or not being able to find things one would find quite normal back in a western country like bike helmets that make Japan the experience and challenge it is.
On a completely differnet line - Michael has finally achieved his dream of being the number one search on google for “Korla Xinjiang“. Congrats to him!
Lets to enjoy as they say. I have a mountain bike to ride which is good fun and some good old Kora keeping things straight. Ai.
