Bad Weather Hits Wildlife Hard

With this winter being one of the hardest in recent history the effects on both humans and the natural world have been immense. Japan has had its heaviest snowfall in 80 years (and still falling) with a number of resultant deaths.
Here in Korla the snow has gone, but according to locals this years has been extreme to say the least. Xinhua News has a story on the calamatous effect of the bad weather on gazelles in the north of Xinjiang. Coupled with the environmental problems that the Chinese government is working to combat this story is sad indeed.
