Baluntai here we come

A gorgeous day today and our boss, Mr. Tao has kindly offered to take us up to Baluntai. Located 2 hours drive north of Korla, Baluntai is a beautiful area, best seen in summer with large grasslands and the home to present day nomadic Mongolian hordes.

Also in Baluntai is the nearest functional Buddhist shrine. Will be good to check that out. There is a church here in Korla and also a number of mosques but being neither muslim or christian they don’t hold that much interest to us. And, being foreigners we aren’t supposed to visit there. Actually communist party members, students and government employees aren’t allowed to visit or worship there either.

Have updated the books and Japan pages. Still in the development stage – that is the wonder of the internet – but looking a bit nicer. There are links to some books I have enjoyed. Crass commercialisation perhaps, but I hope to share some of the little gems I have discovered over the years.
