Halloween Party - よぐ分がんね！
Surfing around the web today when I found the blog of a site called englishok! Having a look around their website it seems that they are a company set up to interface between Japanese companies and the large number of native and non-native English speakers living within Japan. The design seems nice with some cute little flash animations. They had some rather amusing pictures they had taken around Tokyo’s subways.
Their captions are what makes the blog funny though. This photo was captioned:

今日ネットサーフィンしてる時、この面白いブログ見つけました。EnglishOkってゆうサイトで、いっぱい地下鉄のポスターがアップ紹介されている。ポイントは外人さんが見て、どうゆう意味を表すポスターか当てる。やっぱりデサインをする時、言葉だけじゃなくって、イメージもどうゆう意味を表すのか考えないといけない。
外人さんが上のポスターを見ると、“Women Only”と日付けしか意味が分かりません。普通１０月３１日と言えば、ハロウィーンの祭り。あー１０月３１日だから女性だけのハロウィーンパーティがあると思うのが外人さん。日本語分かる方の場合だったら、あー１０月３１日から有楽町線で女性だけの車両は朝だけ走りますって分かります。だいぶ違うですね。笑いました。
