Not the Chinese New Year

Well 2006 is here. Not teaching at the moment - and probably not teaching again until sometime in February - so this is the first time we have been online this year!

Happy New Year to everyone! Happy New Year from China

There have been big changes at Circle English here in Korla. Familar faces have departed and, so far, one new teacher has arrived. So it has been a time for goodbye parties as well as celebrating the New Year. Of course, with the Chinese celebrating their New Year in February, New Years here was pretty low key, playing in the snow outside one of the local mosques.

There is a Uighyur festival starting Tuesday - the Rose Festival if I have it right, so we will take part in that. After that it is off to Kuche to play in the snow again. Then to Urumqi for a little shopping - will try to pick up OSX and a few other goodies. Then Heavenly Lake for some photos and finally back to Korla.

Keep it straight.
