Random Noodles

Noodles!

Lazy day, woke up this morning with a fuzzy head this morning thanks to a glass of brandy last night. Only one glass of brandy mind. Watched another episode of 24 - Series 4. It is great to be able to watch a TV show like that here. We only have a couple of channels at home, not very good reception and only in either Uighyr or Chinese.

24 is horribly addictive, back when we were in Japan, just before last Christmas we went through a marathon of 24. I like the way the show is put together in a “real time” format with the action matching the exact passage of time (except for the usual breaks for commercials). We have 24 on DVD - DVD 10 (reversible DVD’s) - 2 DVD’s hold the entire 24 episodes. And the whole thing cost 20RMB. About $2.50US. Rocking. Illegal but unenforced.

Had lunch with a couple of my students - good kids. We had noodles with tomatos. Scrummy. On the way back, one of them, his English name is Chris, told me that Chinese people hate the Japanese because of what they did in World War II. I’ve heard that one so many times. Sad that people hate an entire country when really it is the regime and its actions, or lack thereof which are to blame.

I make fun of George Bush in class a great deal, mainly because I don’t respect the man and his actions. But that doesn’t mean I hate American people. I hope my students can come to think like that.

Oh and some interesting links. I searched for linkdomain:www.blizzardboy.net on Yahoo and found the following sites linking to me through RSS feeds.

Muffin Films

Jelly Fish

The mind boggles.
