Happy New Year!

Spring Festival here in Korla, with the usual round of fireworks and dinners, parades and drunk people weaving through traffic.

Some news from Circle English - Lincoln has now officially left Circle English although he is staying in Korla. Julian is a new teacher here, he is from Sweden and speaks an amazing number of languages. One of the great things about life here is the great variety of cultures and backgrounds one encounters.

The weather has picked up recently, most of the snow has gone and temperatures are now above 4 degrees most days. Spring doesnt seem far away and we are all looking forward to the trees turning green again.

Later this week we will head north to a place called Baluntai - which is about an hour and a half north of Korla to check out the a working Tibetan buddhist shrine.

Also, we should over the course of the next few days be getting an internet connection at our apartment. With everyone having holidays here in Korla for the Chinese New Year access to computers at the local internet cafes has been almost impossible. So hopefully we will then be able to update the galleries section soon.
