Job Opening in Korla, Xinjiang

There is a job ad up on ESL Employment for a TESL Teacher to work in the Xinjiang city of Korla. If the job is what I think it is, then it will be very similar to the job I had in Korla. Certainly a positive experience and a chance to live in a very enthralling environment with a fascinating mix of Chinese and Uighur cultures.

Living in Korla is one of the most enjoyable experiences I have had. Go for it!

  1. Either the people I’m going to work with next year need more teachers, or there are two people named Catherine who are looking for English teachers.

    =) this is definitely Huashan.

Yes, it is that Catherine, and she is looking because mistreatment of previous FT’s has caused some wariness in the new recruits (ei. they bailed). Prospective teachers would be wise to demand the e-mails of two or three former FT’s and to contact them.

  3. Sounds like things haven’t changed much in Korla:) A pity really as it is a great place to experience some of the variety China has to offer. Hope they get things sorted out.
